The training consists of several units in which theory (rules, coding, application requirements) as well as practical examples and exercises are discussed. In a mix of remote courses (webinar) and self-study the process building block system MTM-HWD and the development background is explained to the participant. After this training the participant is able to describe and evaluate processes and to uncover design potentials of processes and work systems.

Further course information

  • Development of MTM-HWD
  • Description language and description form of MTM-HWD
  • Actions, their content delimitation and influencing variables
  • Rules for the uniform and proper application of the process module system MTM-HWD
  • Practical exercises to increase the application safety of the process module system MTM-HWD
  • Execution of analysis and synthesis of work processes with the help of MTM-HWD process modules for the purpose of optimal design
  • Use of the description language MTM-HWD for further result variables (e.g. ergonomics assessment with EAWS)

The participation in the training MTM-HWD requires the successfully passed exam in MTM-1 Base. Basic knowledge in ergonomics is recommended.

The participant knows

  • the sense and purpose of flow and process descriptions.
  • the structure of MTM-HWD especially the MTM-HWD actions and influencing variables.
  • the procedure for creating an MTM-HWD modeling.
  • the procedure for creating and using the MTM-HWD modeling template.

The participant can apply MTM-HWD practically, especially for

  • Planning and design of working methods, work processes and workplaces.
  • Description and evaluation of work contents.
  • Improvement of existing work systems.

The Webinar MTM-HWD concludes with an online exam. In exceptional cases, the examination board may order an additional oral examination.

After passing the exam a certificate will be issued. In case of a failed exam, this will be communicated in a separate letter and instead of the certificate a neutral certificate of participation will be issued.

When you book a training (or someone else books for you) you will always receive a participant code. Please redeem this code as soon as possible. 7 days before the start of the training, you will receive an email with all the concrete data about the training date - e.g. date and time of the test session, session times, link to the training documents and the course, ... You will only receive this email if you have redeemed your participant code beforehand.

The course will also be activated for you 7 days before the start of the training. You will then have access to the training material.

The webinar will be conducted via MS Teams. Please install the app on your computer, using the web version is less convenient.

Please ensure that your PC meets the following system requirements:

  • Windows: Microsoft Edge Chromium (latest version), Google Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version); Internet Explorer is NOT recommended!
  • Mac: Safari (latest version), Google Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version)
  • Mobile: Safari in Apple iOS 10 and higher, Google Chrome in Apple iOS 10 and higher, Google Chrome in Android OS 4.4 or higher.

We recommend using a headset to participate in each session.

Note on mobile devices:

Participation in this course is generally also possible with a tablet. Make sure you have a good Wi-Fi connection to prevent possible problems.

Please have the MTM-1 data card, a calculator, a pad and pen ready for the training units.
