MTM-1 Base E-Learning for students

approved by MTM ASSOCIATION

This training is part of the MTM training for students. The valid matriculation certificate must be uploaded as proof. Only after the certificate has been checked by MTM and the invoice has been paid will the course be activated. The course will take approximately 40 hours to complete.

Access to the course is possible for 90 days and starts when you first start the course.

The e-learning is designed so that you can work through all the modules independently. There is no technical support available from an instructor.

Technical requirements
Please ensure that your PC meets the following system requirements:

  • Windows: Microsoft Edge Chromium (latest version), Google Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version) - Internet Explorer is NOT recommended!
  • Mac: Safari (latest version), Google Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version)
  • Mobile: Safari in Apple iOS 10 and above, Google Chrome in Apple iOS 10 and above, Google Chrome in Android OS 4.4 or above.

Note on mobile devices:
This course is basically also suitable for editing on a tablet. Make sure you have a good WLAN connection to prevent possible problems. Editing the course on a mobile phone is not recommended.

This training is reserved exclusively for students with a valid matriculation certificate. The certificate must be uploaded after booking - in the MY MTM area - and will be released by MTM. Only then can the course be started.


To participate in the MTM-1 Base E-Learning course for students, current enrolment is mandatory. Otherwise, there are no further access requirements.

The participant knows

  • the development and structure of MTM-1.
  • the application areas and prerequisites for MTM-1.
  • the classification of MTM-1 in the systematics of the (application-neutral) MTM process building block systems, the application areas as well as the commonalities and differences of the MTM process building block systems.
  • the MTM basic movements and their fundamental importance for the higher aggregated MTM process building block systems.
  • the essential degrees of MTM training ("Blue Card" and "Green Card") and their national and international significance.
  • other MTM methods, such as ProKon and EAWS, and MTM tools, such as TiCon, and their significance and application in the PEP.

The participant can

  • Read MTM-1 analyses and has gained initial experience in writing short MTM-1 analyses and applying the MTM-1 framework.
  • Apply MTM-1 and gains first experience in
    • Planning and designing work methods, work processes and workplaces,
    • modelling (describing and evaluating) work content,
    • improving existing work systems.
  • explain the MTM basic movements and their fundamental importance for the higher aggregated MTM process building block systems.
  • assess which MTM process building block systems he can usefully apply in his professional environment.
  • assess which further training is appropriate against his professional background.

The e-learning concludes with an examination. If the exam is passed, a certificate is issued.

The access period to the e-learning course is 90 days after the first access to the course.

The time frame of the e-learning course includes approx. 40 hours.
